How I do my to-dos
Making to-dos is important for me because I forget a lot of stuff, and I don’t want to use my brain to remember what I need to do.
Not using my brain to remember the task I have to do also helps me stay more focused because I know where I can find the things i need to do.
This phenomen is called Zeigarnik Effect
I tried every app to stay ahead of my to-dos, but…
I don’t know why, I like to write my to-dos in a nice notebook with a nice pen, where I can scribble them, mark them, and make the page look chaotic.
This worked for me, and I stuck to it.
If I think about pen and paper, it is the most flexible tool for me.
I write my to-dos for one week.
Every Sunday or Monday, I write my to-dos for the week in my notebook.
If I need new to-dos, I just add them.
When I don’t finish a to-do in the week I planned to finish it, it goes to the next pages where I plan the next week.
Or I just leave it because it was not that important.
No rules for how I write them down or where—just two pages for a week, and that’s it.
